Incorporating Cybersecurity into the Accounting Curriculum Bootcamp Summary:
The accounting profession is positioned to be at the forefront of cybersecurity given our role in designing and evaluating internal controls to protect information assets, such as private personal data and company financial information. Professional accounting organizations offer training and certifications in cybersecurity awareness, and accounting firms engage in cybersecurity risk management advisory and assurance services. The accounting curriculum should prepare students with foundational skills to enhance their security posture as part of a cybersecurity team.
The AAA AIS section is proud to offer an “Incorporating Cybersecurity into the Accounting Curriculum Bootcamp”, May 21-22, at the Grant Thornton office in midtown Atlanta, GA. This two-day event will include cybersecurity, risk, and control issues presented by outstanding national practitioners and academic speakers and panelists. The event will provide exposure to cybersecurity topics and discuss current practices and issues relevant to the accounting profession. The sessions will include examples of how to integrate cybersecurity discussions or activities across the accounting curriculum. The Bootcamp sessions will have faculty speakers collaborating with speakers from national accounting firms, industry partners, the AICPA, and ISACA. The goal will be to furnish attendees with cybersecurity discussion points and activities to take back for immediate use in class.
We hope to see you there!
